About the Author

Pastor Meleney Kriel was born in a small town, Colesberg in South Africa as Meleney Bough Berry.  When she was 5 years old, her parents got divorced and she moved to the city, Bloemfontein.  During this tumultuous time, Meleney suffered sexual abuse at the hand of a relative, in whose care she was left periodically.  But more importantly than any of these traumatic events, was that also at age 5, she gave her life to Jesus and began a journey with God as her best friend and Saviour.  Meleney started singing in church and studied music from the age of 7.  Her love of music and the stage stayed with her ever since.

At the age of 11, Meleney knew she wanted to be a missionary and after school she joined the mission society YWAM (Youth with a Mission), and thereafter the Mobile School of Evangelism, presented by the German Evangelist Reinhardt Bonnke.  The young evangelist Leon Kriel was also attending this Bible School.  They fell in love the first day they met and married 3 hours after graduation!  Leon and Meleney embarked on an exciting life as missionaries and travelled Africa, Europe and the USA, promoting Christianity.  Meleney went on to record two CDs (Some say Love in 1994 and Run to You in 2000 ) and communicated her message through music in many different languages and styles.

Through years travelling from one speaking venue and concert to the next, Meleney met countless women who approached her for prayer and advice on dealing with sexual abuse.  While ministering to them, she herself, was walking a long and difficult road to healing from her own trauma.  She struggled with enormous hang-ups in regards to sex and God used her husband Leon and many patient steps to deal with every one of the effects that burdened her.  She saw how God was using her experience to help others.  Leon and Meleney also found the privilege of assisting couples who came to them for advice on marital issues and later also in the area of sexuality.

The reader will realise that through the decades of marriage and as pastors the author and her husband found something special - a healing and restoration of sexuality and the fulfilment of the sexual relationship as God intended it.  They want to share the lessons they learnt and the joy they found.  The marriage bed has been declared "undefiled" by God Himself and no one can stand against that!
